Fenway Stevenson relocates to California from Seattle after her Mother's demise. Her father who owns an oil company and is a very important person in the country, lives with another woman, takes his daughter who is practically broke in every way under his wing. She is now encountered by the City Sheriff McVie who puts forth a proposal of appointing the smart young lady as the City Coroner in the place of the Coroner Harrison Walker, who got murdered recently. Fenway wants to work as a nurse, but is left with a single class to complete her Forensics to achieve a Masters in it. But now for the privileges that she will be showered by her Father at California, and an interesting job at hand, she has no other option but to take up the post of the City Coroner. The first day of her new career starts with the investigation of the murder of Mr Walker. In the process, a lot more is revealed and the case gets weirder and weirder every minute.

It is a medium paced novel.
I appreciate the fact that the author has portrayed the protagonist's character as Black skinned.
He has done his research with regard to the process of investigation very well.
There were no cuss words used as such.
The novel has its surprises at every turn of the page, but still I could guess who the murderer was. The book kept me hooked to it till the end.

Rating: 4 out of 5
